Pilot workshop 7th October 16.45-18.45 UK
A practical workshop for project professionals
Projects are delivered through people. People are connected through conversations.
While project managers receive extensive training in planning, governance, risk and stakeholder management, very little time is spent developing the quality of the conversations that determine whether projects succeed or fail.
Most project challenges aren't caused by poor schedules, they're caused by misunderstandings, assumptions, competing priorities, difficult stakeholder relationships, unclear expectations and conversations that never happen.
Responsible Conversations is a practical approach that helps project professionals navigate these potentially more collaborative moments with greater confidence, curiosity and impact.
This interactive workshop introduces the core principles of Responsible Conversations and provides an opportunity to experience a different way of engaging with stakeholders, colleagues and project teams.
During this two-hour workshop you'll explore:
-
Why conversations are one of the most powerful tools in project delivery.
-
The difference between discussion, debate and dialogue.
-
How to move from solving problems too quickly to understanding them more deeply.
-
Practical techniques for improving stakeholder conversations.
-
How curiosity can uncover risks, assumptions and opportunities that traditional project conversations often miss.
-
Simple approaches you can begin using immediately in your projects.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to practice these skills through guided conversations with other project professionals in a safe, supportive environment.
Pre-work
Before the workshop, we'd like you to spend a few minutes reflecting on two stakeholder conversations:
-
One conversation that went particularly well and what you think helped to make it go well
-
One conversation that was challenging in some way , or didn't achieve the outcome you hoped for., and what you think got in the way.
We'll use these real experiences as the basis for discussion and practice during the session.
Who should attend?
Project Managers, Programme Managers, PMO professionals, Change Managers and anyone responsible for leading projects through people.
No previous coaching or facilitation experience is required.
Why this workshop?
This is the first public pilot of Responsible Conversations.
We're inviting a small group of project professionals to experience the workshop before it becomes part of our wider professional development programme.
Your participation is free, and your feedback will help shape future versions of the workshop.
